Northwest Washington is getting a new kind of mobile network. HexyNodes has secured seven licensed operating areas (called hexes) across the greater Bellingham region, plus one in Port Angeles, as part of the World Mobile Network Builder program. This means affordable phone plans, community owned infrastructure, and real economic opportunity for locals.
If you live in Bellingham, Anacortes, or anywhere on the Olympic Peninsula, this is worth paying attention to.

What is World Mobile?
World Mobile is a mobile phone carrier that does things differently. Instead of building all the infrastructure from a single corporate headquarters, World Mobile lets communities participate in building and running the network. Think of it as a locally powered alternative to the big carriers.
For subscribers, the experience is straightforward. You pick a plan, get an eSIM (no store visit, no SIM card in the mail), and you’re connected in minutes. World Mobile uses four major network partners to deliver 99% US coverage, so you get the same reach as the big guys without the big price tag.
Phone Plans That Actually Make Sense

Every World Mobile plan includes unlimited calls, texts, and data. No contracts. No early termination fees. A built in VPN comes standard on every plan, which is something most carriers charge extra for (or don’t offer at all).
| Plan | High Speed Data | Price | Highlights |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 2 GB | $15/mo | VPN, hotspot, no contract |
| Standard | 8 GB | $25/mo | VPN, hotspot, no contract |
| Unlimited | 25 GB | $40/mo | Identity protection, international calls to 60 countries |
| Unlimited+ | 50 GB | $55/mo | $1M identity insurance, SIM swap protection |
Family discounts knock off 10% for two lines, 20% for three, and 30% for four or more. For a family of four on the Starter plan, that’s just $42/month total for four lines with unlimited calls and texts.
New subscribers get 50% off their first month.

Bellingham and the surrounding area have a unique combination of factors that make it ideal for building out a community network.
A tech savvy population. With Western Washington University bringing in over 16,000 students, Bellingham has a large demographic of people who are comfortable with technology and always looking for affordable alternatives. Students are early adopters by nature, and a $15/month phone plan is a hard deal to pass up when you’re on a college budget.
A community that values independence. Bellingham has a long history of supporting local businesses, cooperative models, and community driven initiatives. A community owned mobile network fits right into that ethos.
Growing demand.

What HexyNodes is Building
HexyNodes operates as a Network Builder within the World Mobile ecosystem. We hold seven hexes in the Bellingham area and one in Port Angeles. A hex is a licensed geographic operating area that gives us the rights and responsibility to grow the network in that region.
Our roadmap has four phases:
- Subscriber acquisition is where we are now. We’re focused on signing up 1,000 subscribers per hex (7,000 total) through community outreach, local partnerships, and our landing page at hexymobile.com.
- Partnership building involves recruiting local agents, partnering with businesses for QR code promotions, and connecting with property managers and building owners who might want to host network equipment.
- AirNode deployment is when we start placing physical wireless devices (AirNodes) on rooftops and buildings to create local network coverage. Hosts earn ongoing revenue for providing their locations.
- Scaling and optimization means expanding coverage, diversifying revenue streams, and building long term value for everyone involved.
How You Can Get Involved
This isn’t a top down corporate rollout. World Mobile is designed so that local people benefit directly from the network they help build.
Switch Your Phone Plan
The simplest way to support the network is to sign up for a World Mobile plan. You get a great deal on phone service, and your subscription counts toward our subscriber goals, which unlocks the next phases of network deployment in the area.
Become a Local Agent
If you live in Bellingham or Port Angeles and want to earn money helping grow the network, we’re looking for Sales Activator agents. You’d help sign up subscribers in your community and earn a 60% revenue share on every affiliate commission. All materials and support are provided. No investment required.
Host an AirNode
If you own a building or property with rooftop access, you can earn ongoing revenue by hosting an AirNode. Installation is handled for you, and the devices are compact, weather resistant, and low maintenance. As we move into the deployment phase, we’ll be actively looking for host locations across both regions.
Partner Your Business
Local businesses can display a simple QR code at their location. When customers scan it and sign up for a plan, the business earns a share of the referral commission. Zero effort, zero cost, passive income.
The Bigger Picture
Traditional telecom is a top down industry. A handful of massive corporations own the infrastructure, set the prices, and keep the profits. World Mobile flips that model. The people who build the network share in the value it creates.
For Bellingham, this means affordable connectivity, local economic opportunity, and infrastructure that actually responds to community needs. For HexyNodes, it means building something real in a region we believe in.
We’re just getting started. If you want to be part of it, whether as a subscriber, an agent, a host, or a business partner, we’d love to hear from you.
Ready to switch? Plans start at $15/mo.

Do I need to live in Bellingham to sign up?
No. World Mobile plans work across 99% of the US. You can sign up from anywhere and still support the Bellingham network by using the HexyNodes affiliate link.
Is this a new carrier or does it use existing networks?
World Mobile uses four major US network partners to provide coverage right now. Over time, AirNodes will add additional local coverage. You get nationwide service from day one.
How does eSIM work?
When you sign up, you’ll receive a QR code. Open your phone’s settings, scan the code, and follow the prompts. No store visit, no physical SIM card. The process takes a few minutes. Your phone needs to be carrier unlocked and eSIM compatible (most phones made after 2019 are).
What’s a hex?
A hex is a geographic operating area in the World Mobile Network Builder system. Each hex is roughly 252 x 252 square kilometers. HexyNodes holds seven hexes in the Bellingham area and one in Port Angeles, giving us the rights to build out the network in those regions.
How do I become an agent?
Contact us at hello@hexynodes.com or visit hexynodes.com. We’ll walk you through the process, provide all materials, and get you set up on the World Mobile platform. No experience or investment required.
When will AirNodes be deployed in Bellingham?
AirNode deployment is Phase 3 of our roadmap, expected to begin once we’ve built a strong subscriber base and identified suitable host locations. If you have a property that might work, reach out early so we can plan ahead.
